Manheim Auto Auctions has openings for Vehicle Inspectors at our operations in Hayward. We have openings for level II and level III inspectors.

***Both Inspector level positions will offer a $2,000 signing bonus to be paid out at 90 days of employment***


VEHICLE INSPECTOR LEVEL II:

Pay starting @ $22/hr.

 

Perform vehicle inspections and prepare related documentation of overall vehicle condition in support of the processing and sale of client/customer consigned vehicles in lane and online.

 

Key Responsibilities:

·         Verify vehicle identification.

·         Enter basic vehicle identification information to database.

·         Inspect vehicle equipment and options and document results.

·         Assess and database enter any exterior vehicle damage.

·         Take photographs/images of damages

·         Inspect and enter condition of vehicle interior, tires, frame and mechanical components.

·         Complete and verify data entry in support of documentation of vehicle condition.

·         Perform post sale inspections (PSI) and enter results in appropriate database.

·         Perform and document walk around inspections in support of online vehicle exchange (OVE) process.

·         Review completed vehicle condition reports with inspectors – confirm and provide advice regarding report results.

·         Attend meetings to share and receive job related information and complete training requirements.

·         Provides training for Inspectors on all duties and responsibilities of the Inspector role through hands-on and classroom training as appropriate; trains other Vehicle Entry staff on use of related programs as needed.

 

Qualifications:

·         High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

·         ASE certification or background in automotive repair cost estimating preferred; ICAR Certifications a plus.

·         Valid Driver’s License and safe driving record required.

·         Basic computer software skills required.

·         Ability to multitask required.

·         Must be detail oriented.

·         General knowledge of body and mechanical work preferred.

·         Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear.

·         Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch and climb.

·         Medium strength.

·         Previous body shop experience, mechanical experience, estimating experience a plus, but not required. 



VEHICLE INSPECTOR LEVEL III:

Pay starting @ $25/hr.

 

Perform vehicle inspections and prepare related documentation of overall vehicle condition in support of the processing and sale of client/customer consigned vehicles in lane and online. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

·         Verify vehicle identification. 

·         Enter basic vehicle identification information to database. 

·         Inspect vehicle equipment and options and document results. 

·         Assess and enter any exterior vehicle damage. 

·         Inspect and enter condition of vehicle interior, tires, frame and mechanical components.  

·         Complete and verify data entry in support of documentation of vehicle condition. 

·         Collaborate with auto technicians to perform post sale inspections (PSI) and enter results in appropriate database following auction policies. 

·         Perform and document walk around inspections in support of online vehicle exchange (OVE) process. 

·         Review completed vehicle condition reports with inspectors – confirm and provide advice regarding report results. 

·         Attend meetings to share and receive job related information and complete training requirements. 

·         Locating proper options on ECR and in vehicle 

·         Locating emissions stickers on vehicle 

·         Reading paint meter, tire gauge, and ruler 

·         NAAA frame policy chart 

·         Choosing proper drop-down menus in ECR and IDIS (for audits)
